I am a union member, a community organizer, and a Minnesota State Representative.

Minnesotans believe that hard work should leave to a good life. Record prices and record profits point to one thing: billionaires and powerful people rigged the system and pitted us against each other while they robbed us blind. We have been tricked into thinking those that believe, pray, or live differently than us are to blame for our hardships. This is a lie. A lie meant to distract us from the truth: while we fight amongst ourselves, those at the top extract our wealth, steal our health, and plunder our communities. Enough is enough.

We must reinstate transparency and accountability in government, corporations, and society. For too long, lax oversight of public programs has diminished faith in government. For too long, corporations have captured government, bending policy to increase their profits and decrease their responsibility to the public. For too long, we have let injustice thrive for the sake of our comfort and, in doing so, we have worsened inequality and diminished our collective freedom.

Together, we will unrig the broken system, hold fraudsters accountable, and restore the promise stolen from us: that hard work will be rewarded with a fulfilling life. It will be a long, hard battle. But I’m honored to fight it alongside you.
